UX Strategy Case Studies

Exploring Design, Strategy, and Meaning

Scope Project Development, UX framework / Role Project Lead, UX Strategist, Instructor

One of my favorite studio experiences to lead is a multi-week, immersive design challenge where students reimagined digital experiences through the lens of empathy, ethics, and innovation. As their guide, I designed the entire framework, structuring each phase around real-world UX strategy: user research, insight synthesis, ideation, rapid prototyping, usability testing, and storytelling.

Students could choose from three tracks. Track 1 is a UX makeover of an existing interface that needs a facelift. Track 2 is creating an app from scratch. Track 3 is a speculative UX design project to get students to think about the future of the field. As the creator and UX Strategy Lead, I developed the project framework, designed all research and testing phases, and guided teams through every stage of the UX process; from user interviews and journey mapping to ideation, prototyping, and usability evaluation. The challenge reflected my belief that UX design is both a craft and a philosophy: a process of understanding human behavior, framing ethical questions, and creating meaning through design.

This collection of case studies showcases not only their growth but my expertise in UX design, UX research, and user-centered strategy. Across my courses (whether running usability tests in UX Innovations, conducting empathy interviews in Design Thinking, or guiding data visualization projects in Advanced UI) I build frameworks that mimic professional practice. Students learn to design systems, not just screens; to ask the right questions before creating the right solutions.

Through projects like these, I’ve developed a teaching and design philosophy grounded in curiosity, ethical awareness, and strategic clarity; qualities I bring into every UX initiative I lead. My work, both in the classroom and beyond, demonstrates an understanding of the full UX process: translating insights into interfaces that are intentional, inclusive, and deeply human.
